  • PS4 Getting Beautiful 3D Platformer Grow Home

Grow Home, the 3D platformer published by Ubisoft, is coming to PlayStation 4 next month.
Ubisoft announced that the game will be released on PS4 on September 1. In the game, players take control of a robot who grows a plant in order to climb into the sky. It was originally released on PC by Ubisoft Reflections, the studio best known for the Driver series.
Interestingly, Grow Home will be on the first roster of Sony's Vote to Play program. Recently, Sony announced that it would begin to let players vote on games they'd like to see as free downloads through PlayStation Plus. Starting August 13, the first batch includes Grow Home, Armello, and Zombie Vikings. If you're a Plus member, you can vote through your PS4. The winning game will be one of the PlayStation Plus games for September.
When Grow Home first launched in February, GameSpot critic Austin Walker thought it was great. He wrote, "Is Grow Home a charming game that's worth your time? Yes. Do I believe this because Grow Home contrasts so sharply with Ubisoft's recent output? Also yes. Yet no matter how prone to cynicism you may be, you shouldn't let this surprising gem go unnoticed." You can read the full review here.
Back in February, soon after Grow Home's original release, Ubisoft stated that it would bring the game to consoles if it sold enough. We've reached out to Ubisoft about if the game will be ported to Xbox One, but it clearly sold enough to justify the company bringing it to PS4.
