  • Rainbow Six Siege Is Banning Cheaters on Their First Offense

Ubisoft today announced that it's taking serious measures against Rainbow Six Siege cheaters. As of today, June 7, Ubisoft will permanently ban people on their first offense for cheating or hacking.
"The presence of cheating in the game is something we take very seriously, and is a priority on the development team," Ubisoft said on the Siege website. "This update is one step among many that we are working on to better engage with the community on this issue."
The Siege code of conduct has been updated as well. Here is the pertinent section regarding cheating/modding/hacking:
"Player is running a modified or otherwise unauthorized version of the game client or a third-party software which provides any sort of unfair advantage (wallhacks, aimhacks…) or causing detriment to other players' experience: Maximum penalty is permanent ban on first offense."
You can check out this FAQ to learn more on the new permanent ban and Code of Conduct updates.
Ubisoft also shared new details on additional anti-cheat measures it's taking. The developer is currently "accessing and testing" a number of client-side and anti-cheat options, in addition to implementing new measures for its FairFight efforts. More details on this front will be announced "as soon as we are ready," Ubisoft said.
"We will be continuing to support the community on this issue, and we want to assure you that if a player is using cheating software, they are not welcome in Rainbow Six Siege."
Siege isn't the only gaming taking serious measures against cheaters. Blizzard's Overwatch also permanently bans people for cheating.
