  • All the New Games Revealed at E3 2016

    E3 2016 Started With a Bang

A handful of new IP and a ton of new entries in beloved franchises were announced during the press conferences in the days before E3. EA, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Microsoft, and Sony all had something to share, and we came out of the two days of pressers with an embarrassment of riches to look forward to. From Kojima's new game to Resident Evil 7 to new experiences coming to VR, here are all the new games announced for E3 2016.

    Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima revealed his next game on Sony's stage: Death Stranding, a strange game that will star The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus.

    Crash Bandicoot Remasters

It was revealed during Sony's press conference that Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2 and Crash Bandicoot Warped are all being remastered for the PlayStation 4.

    Spider-man PS4

Insomniac Games, the developers behind Ratchet and Clank and Sunset Overdrive, are making a Spider-man game for PlayStation.

    Days Gone

Sony Bend revealed its new game, a zombie survival title featuring characters on motorcycles called Days Gone. The press conference ended with an extended live demo of the title.

    Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

A new Resident Evil is coming to PlayStation 4 and will also be fully playable in VR. It seems to be inspired by P.T., the playable tech demo of the canceled Silent Hills project.

Final Fantasy XV, Batman Arkham, and Star Wars X-Wing Missions VR

The latest Final Fantasy will be released for PlayStation VR. In this version, you'll be able to play as Prompto, one of protagonist Noctis' companions. Also coming to VR are Star Wars Battlefront X-Wing Missions--in which you pilot an X-wing--and a Batman Arkham game from Rocksteady.

    God of War

God of War is getting rebooted, and Sony opened its press conference with a live gameplay demo of the new title. It appears to be set in a world colored by Norse mythology rather than Greek, and the demo we saw followed what appeared to be Kratos and a young boy who addressed him as his father.

    Trials of the Blood Dragon

A collaboration between the creators of Trials Fusion and Dean Evans, the creative director of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Trials of the Blood Dragon is the gameplay of the former with the sentiment and art style of the latter. It launched directly after Ubisoft's press conference ended.

    Grow Up

Following Grow Home, Ubisoft is making a direct sequel, called Grow Up.

    Just Dance 2017

We're getting another iteration of Just Dance. And it's coming to NX.

    Steep

During its press conference, Ubisoft announced Steep, an open-world action game that lets players participate in snow sports like skiing and snowboarding. The game is in development with Ubisoft's Annecy studio, which is located close to the Alps.

    State of Decay 2

State of Decay--the blockbuster open-world zombie survival IP that took Xbox Live by storm a few years ago--is getting a sequel. The new game will launch sometime next year.

    Dead Rising 4

Dead Rising 4 was confirmed for Xbox One during Microsoft's press conference. The game takes place during the holiday season and features a bunch of new, wacky weapons, like a triceratops helmet/flamethrower.

    Forza Horizon 3

Open-world arcade racer Forza Horizon 3 was announced during Microsoft's press conference. For this iteration, the developers are taking the game to Australia.

Gwent: The Witcher 3 Card Game

The Witcher 3's card game is so beloved, CD Projekt Red is giving it its own standalone release.

    Fe

During its E3 press conference, EA announced that it would be taking more indie studios under its wing, similar to its partnership with Unravel developer Coldwood Studios. Developer Zoink, based in Sweden, will be bringing its game Fe to the table, an adventure about a small (adorable) creature journeying through a dark world and battling strange monsters.

    FIFA 17

During its press conference, EA announced the latest iteration of its beloved soccer franchise, FIFA 17. The game will include a new story mode, but only on its current-gen versions.

    Madden 17

Following FIFA, EA also announced the latest iteration of the Madden football franchise. This new iteration will allow players to play through special moments in the sport's history.

    Prey

It was revealed during Bethesda's press conference that long-in-development Prey 2 has been revised and rebooted--as a game simply titled Prey. While we can't infer much about the game based on the trailer, we do know that developer Arkane Austin is working to make something as thrilling as Arkane Lyon's IP, Dishonored.

    Quake Champions

After a long hiatus, id Software is bringing back Quake, Bethesda revealed during its press conference. The game seems to be following its tradition as a PC-first shooter, and the company said we'd see more of the game at Quakecon later this year.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim: Special Edition

We knew it was only a matter of time until Skyrim was remastered for modern consoles and PCs. This version will ship on console with mod support.

    Fallout 4 and Doom VR

Both the new Doom and Fallout 4 are coming to the HTC Vive virtual reality headset, Bethesda announced during its press conference. These are the first initiatives the company has announced with regards to VR.
