  • New Avengers: Infinity War Report Confirms Thor: Ragnarok Theory

What happened to Loki (Tom Hiddleston) at the end of Thor: Ragnarok? It's been a hotly debated topic among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans after the God of Mischief was seen finding the Tesseract in the latest Thor movie. Did he steal it? Is he now in possession of an Infinity Stone?
While it was implied in the comic book Avengers: Infinity War Prelude #2 that Loki has made off with the Tesseract, the question has now officially been answered thanks to a new report from Entertainment Weekly about Avengers: Infinity War. Yes, Loki has the glowing cube, which also happens to house the blue Space Stone. That provides the perfect reason for Loki to make himself known in Infinity War, as Thanos (Josh Brolin) looks to obtain each of the stones and the powers that come with them.
Knowing the Space Stone's location officially is a big help, going into Infinity War. EW also confirms what most have have figured out: Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) has the Time Stone, The Collector (Benicio del Toro) is the keeper of the Reality Stone, Vision (Paul Bettany) has the Mind Stone embedded in his forehead, and the Power Stone is in the hands of Nova Corps--the space cops from Guardians of the Galaxy. That leaves only the Soul Stone that has yet to be introduced into the MCU. However, as GameSpot previously theorized, fans may have already been exposed to that particular stone in Black Panther. It's entirely possible that the Soul Stone is what's behind the mysterious heart-shaped herb that gives T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) his Black Panther powers.
Of course, that's not confirmed at this point. Marvel Studios could certainly opt to bring the Soul Stone into play by other means. However that stone appears, it won't be long before fans will find out. Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27.
