  • Black Mirror Star Joining Terminator Movie Reboot-Report

This should be good news for Black Mirror fans, as well as Terminator fans. Mackenzie Davis, who played Yorkie in the "San Junipero" episode of Black Mirror and recently appeared in Blade Runner 2049, is currently negotiating to join the cast of the new Terminator film--the sixth in the series.
The news comes from Variety, which reports that Davis would serve as one of the new faces of the franchise--possibly as the next evolution of Arnold Schwarzenegger's robotic Terminator. Her counterpart, the protagonist that would eventually take over for the returning Linda Hamilton, has yet to be cast, according to Variety.
In addition to Schwarzenegger and Hamilton, the new film also sees the return of James Cameron to the series. The creator of the franchise is not only producing the film but had a hand in crafting its story. As with Hamilton, this is Cameron's first time being hands-on with the Terminator movies since Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Directing the film is Tim Miller, who most recently helmed the first Deadpool.
Outside of the fact that this new Terminator movie will be a direct sequel to T2, practically nothing is known about the film's plot. Cameron and everyone else involved has been careful not to let any secrets slip out. However, it does have an announced release date--July 26, 2019.
