I have a Maxtor and an IBM. The Maxtor is loud, but have not had a problem with it so far. Mine is 160 GIG 7200 RPM and was about $190.00 US dollars, give or take a few dollars here or there. Check out this link,

There's so damn many of them, maybe, just maybe my boys can stop them from gettin' the book. Yah, maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot.

Either Maxtor or Western Digital is good, but make sure to get the ones with 8mb cache for better performance.

If you get one with an 8mb cache, will you notice the difference, and if so in what way?

HD's w/ an 8 MB cache access data faster then conventional HD's (4 x Faster), and are capable of 133 MB per second transfer rates, and even faster if you have a SATA* Raid connector onboard, but you must buy the SATA Hard drive......I love mine..
