Networking

Hi Guys

I need help again, my friend and i are in the middle of trying to install a home network...

I'm running Xp, his is 98

The Ip address are configered properly
The network says it's working (i.e. connected at 10.0mb) , we have set up folders to share, but still can't see them?

Any ideas?

Check your harddrives and make sure that its on "Shared"....That in your computer/Right click on hard drive/properties/Sharing/click "Shared as"....Do this on both CPU`s.....Reboot.......Thats what i got rt now......

check the cable - if it's rj45 directly into the network cards you need a special crossover cable to link to pc's - a normal cable won't work
