  • No, A God Of War Netflix Show Is Not Happening ... Yet

Recently, a post on social media went viral that claimed Jason Momoa would star as Kratos in a God of War TV show for Netflix. This is a bunch of malarkey.
God of War director Cory Barlog confirmed on Twitter that no, a God of War show for Netflix is not happening, at least not yet. Intriguingly, after shutting down the rumour, he teased, "I wonder if we should do something about that, Netflix?"
    True. This is not happening.

    Hmmm...?...

I wonder if we should do something about that @netflix ? https://t.co/0qGVP9E0ET

A sentence from Barlog on Twitter is nothing close to confirmation that a God of War show will happen with Netflix or at all. But it's intriguing to think about.
The new God of War for PS4 is a highly cinematic experience that impressively uses a single-shot camera method that helps the story and the action come across in a new and original way. Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts sung Barlog's praises at E3 for it.
While a God of War TV show may not happen soon or even, Netflix is producing a program based on The Witcher novels (not the games). The show is currently in the scripting phase, and no announcements have been made as of yet regarding the cast or release date.
God of War for PS4 launched in April and was a hit with critics. It also sold incredibly well.
