Xbox Music, Microsoft's music distribution service on Xbox 360 and Windows 8 platforms, has launched on iOS and Android devices, as well as become available for free streaming on the web.Previously, it was only subscribers who could use the browser-based streaming service, but now it's available to anyone running Windows 8 or later. Such users can stream up to 30 million songs from the service at no cost, though after six months streaming will be limited to 10 hours a month for non-subscribers. Those who purchase a Music Pass for $9.99 a month or $99.99 for a year will have unlimited access to their music on PC, tablets, Xbox 360, Windows Phone 8, iOS and Android.
Unfortunately, the iOS and Android apps only allow streaming music at the moment, though the option to download songs and play them offline will be added this autumn.
