1. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
The release of Ground Zeroes whet our appetite for our first full Metal Gear Solid game on the next-gen consoles. Venturing into the open world, The Phantom Pain looks like a game of the year candidate.
2. The Order: 1886
In an alternate historical timeline, The Order pits humans against the de-evolved "Half-breeds." You'll play as Sir Galahad, a member of an elite group of Knights.
3. Tom Clancy's The Division
After a deadly virus is unleashed on New York City, The President calls in the top-secret Division to keep peace on the streets.
4. Mortal Combat X
Mortal Combat X has already gotten a big bump thanks to Conan O'Brien's Clueless Gamer segment with Marshawn Lynch and Rob Gronkowski.
5. The Legend of Zelda Wii U
The first original Zelda game exclusively for the Wii U will feature an open-world environment that'll expand the universe (maybe) past just single-player gaming.
6. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Players will once again control Geralt of in the third entry of the extremely robust open-world RPG franchise.
7. Batman: Arkham Knight
Coming off a misstep for the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Knight is being developed by the original studio, Rocksteady, which should bring the series to a fitting conclusion.
8. Final Fantasy XV
Formerly known as Final Fantasy Versus, FFXV will drop players into the magical world for the 15th unique installment of the epic franchise.
9. Battlefield Hardline
The next entry in the Battlefield story, players will focus on the inner-city battle between the police and criminals.
10. Halo 5: Guardians
In Halo's first all-new title on the Xbox One, we'll see a new character in Agent Locke, a Spartan tasked with hunting down Master Chief.
11. Star Wars: Battlefront
This next-gen upgrade will blast onto consoles this year, letting players go after each other on Hoth, Endor and (hopefully) some locations seen in The Force Awakens.
