The original Gears of War came out in 2006. Now it's being remastered for release on Xbox One and PC in an Ultimate Edition due 25th August.It's got all the bells and whistles, including 60 frames-per-second video and dedicated servers (no more host shotgun advantage).Digital Foundry dove into the Ultimate Edition beta recently to give it a proper technical assessment.
But a more straightforward question that needed answering was, 'How much better than the original nine-year-old game does it look?' One of our video team, Ian Higton, set about answering it.
