    $600


    Unsurprisingly, Oculus Riift is not going to be cheap. Oculus VR this week opened preorders for the headset, confirming the $600 price point. The first wave of headsets will ship at the end of March.

    A Huge Holiday


    Fueled by a massive holiday season during which Sony sold 5.7 million PlayStation 4 consoles, the system's new life-to-date sales total rose to 35.9 million. That's after just two years. [Full story]


    More Time


    Scalebound, the new action game from the makers of Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, needs a little more time. Microsoft confirmed this week that the Xbox One game will launch in the "latter half of 2016." Previously, it was scheduled for spring 2016. [Full story]


    Happy Birthday, Media Molecule!


    The UK developer behind the lovely LittleBigPlanet series turned 10 this week. The studio opened on January 4, 2006. Media Molecule has even launched a nifty interactive "time machine" that takes you on a trip down virtual memory lane. [Full story]



    To Infinity And Beyond


    Disney Infinity has overtaken Skylanders (and Amiibo) to become the No. 1 toys-to-life game in the world. That's according to Disney's John Vignocchi. [Full story]

    Forza 6's Ralph Lauren DLC


    Ralph Lauren, yes really, has sponsored the latest expansion pack for Xbox One racing game Forza 6. Titled Ralph Lauren Polo Red Car Pack, the expansion is out this week. It adds seven new cars. Get all the details and see more images here.



    Unreal


    A Fallout speedrunner has done the unthinkable. He's beaten Fallout 3 in a world record time of 15 minutes. I don't know about you, but I needed a lot more time than that to finish the Bethesda RPG. You can get more details and watch a video of the run here.

    Double Fine's Psychonauts 2 is now a thing that is really happening. The San Francisco studio raised $3.3 million to make the project a reality. Huzzah!




    RIP


    Atari composer Brad Fuller, who worked on various Tetris games, among others, has passed away from pancreatic ******* VGMO reports. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this time.


    Renovations


    The Nintendo World Store in New York City--the only store of its kind that Nintendo operates in the USA--is getting a major renovation. Get all the details and see some WIP images here.


    Marble Mountain


    A new virtual reality game called Marble Mountain is launching in Q2 2016 for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, Australian developer Lightning Rock announced this week. It'll also be playable on PC outside of VR. In the game, you control a marble on an "epic journey to the top of a mountain."



    Infinium Strike


    Kickstarter success story Infinium Strike, developed by former Ubisoft employees, will launch in Q2 2016 on Xbox One, studio Codex Worlds has announced. Previously, it was announced only for PC, Mac, and Linux. You can learn more about the game, set in the distant future, here on its website.




    Death


    Blizzard has posted an in-depth blog post that covers a lot of the changes and additions to Diablo III coming to the RPG as part of the upcoming 2.4 update. Check out the blog post to get all the deets.
