    Fallout 4 DLC Inbound


    Fallout 4's first expansions have been announced! They are called Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, and Far Harbor. That last one is the biggest of the bunch; it's priced at $25 and includes the biggest landmass Bethesda has ever made for an add-on. [Full story]


    Kojima and del Toro Reunite


    Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro reunited this week at the 2016 DICE Summit for a special dual keynote. We also had some time to speak with Kojima about his post-Konami life. You can read our full interview here, in which he talks about making an "edgy" game and more.

    At the 2016 DICE Summit this week, Bethesda director Todd Howard revealed that Bethesda Game Studios--the team behind Fallout 4 and Skyrim--is working on three new "big and crazy" games Bethesda's E3 2016 briefing is just a few months away... [Full story]


    FBI vs. Apple


    In a blockbuster announcement this week, Apple said it was approached by the FBI and asked to build a backdoor into its iPhones. Apple said no, but this probably won't be the last of the matter. [Full story]


    Not the Best


    Much-anticipated fighting game Street Fighter V launched on Tuesday, but things didn't go exactly to plan. The game's servers struggled. Capcom was quick to apologize, but that wasn't the only issue players reported. It was discovered that Street Fighter V does not penalize people for "rage-quitting." Capcom intends to offer a solution in the future with a new patch. [Full story]


    Opening Soon


    The National Video Game Museum will open in April, organizers have announced. It's located in Frisco, Texas and is stocked with 100,000-plus consoles, games, and artifacts from gaming's past and present. You can learn more about it here on this website.

    Someone beat Dark Souls without ever taking any hit damage. Really. You have to watch this video to believe it.



    Reynolds on Jackman


    Here's a silly video in which Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds crashes Hugh Jackman's press junket for his new movie Eddie the Eagle. Good stuff.


    The $100 Million Game


    The BBC has a rad new behind-the-scenes video feature around Star Citizen, the $100 million game from Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts. In it, Roberts discusses the game's delays and what it takes to make a game of this size and scope. You can watch it here.


    The Town of Light


    Florence, Italy-based indie dev LKA will launch its first game, a psychological thriller called The Town of Light, on Xbox One later this year, the studio has announced. The first-person game is set in the fictional Volterra Psychiatric Asylum. You play as an imaginary 16-year-old who who suffers from mental illness issues. You can read more about it here.



    Tolkien Is New Again


    New poems from legendary Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien have been discovered. They were written for a school magazine. To be more specific, the poems were published in 1936 at Our Lady's School in Oxfordshire. You can get the full story here from the BBC.


    Intense


    As part of its research effort for Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Ubisoft sent a team to Bolivia. There, they went on a one-week trip with the Bolivian Army, getting a glimpse at the poor country. They also witnessed first-hand the burning of a cocaine lab. Get the full story here at IGN.

    Compare


    The classic Counter-Strike map Nuke is being remade for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive--and it looks great. Head to Valve's website to see a series of comparison shots that show off just how far it's come.


    Kendally & Kylie


    Kendally and Kylie Jenner's new video game from Glu Mobile could be a huge, huge hit, just like Kim Kardashian's. The free game (supported by microtransactions) could make at least $125 million and "potentially closer to $200 million," according to a report this week from research firm Cowen & Co.




    Update!


    Minecraft's first major update of 2016 has arrived. The "Overworld Update," as it's being called, introduces new redstone components, as well as armor-dyeing, item frames, maps, slime blocks, wearable pumpkins (yes, really), and more hostile mobs. Additionally, there is 170G worth of new Gamerscore to unlock. You can get a full rundown on the Overworld Update here.



    Dragon Age Romance


    Toronto radio station 640 Toronto has a good interview up with BioWare writer Patrick Weeks, in which he discusses, among other things, the element of romance in Mass Effect and Dragon Age. You can listen to the entire segment here.


    Not Enough

    Pro Play


    Developer ArenaNet has announced more details on the first-ever Guild Wars 2 ESL Pro League Finals. The event takes place this weekend in Leicester, UK. It's the first ESL pro tournament for an MMO, ArenaNet says, and teams from North America and Europe will compete for a share of the $100,000 prize pool. The developer notes this is the biggest prize purse in Guild Wars 2 history. You can learn more about the event at its website here.
