  • New Destiny Patch Out Now, Get the Details Here

Bungie has deployed a new "hotfix" for Destiny that makes changes to matchmaking settings. As explained on Bungie's website, update 2.1.1.3 introduces Crucible changes such that matchmaking algorithms now prioritize connection quality over everything else. Scroll down to learn more.
The new Destiny patch also enables the "Damage Referee" for all Crucible playlists. As Bungie explained previously, the Damage Referee is basically a system that aims to improve the overall matchmaking experience by "handling things that can go wrong when you're playing games online."
A full rundown of Damage Referee details can be seen here.
    Destiny March 8 Hotfix:

    • Updated all of the matchmade Crucible playlists to make use of the higher priority on latency settings
    • Enabled Damage Referee for all Crucible playlists

In other Destiny news, the game is getting a "large" expansion this year, with a full sequel coming in 2017. On the more immediate horizon, a new update is coming this spring that will introduce a Light increase, new PvE challenges, and more gear, among other things.
Destiny's spring update will be discussed in greater detail during a "Ride Along" livestream event scheduled for sometime down the road, though not likely this week.
