  • Every Batman v Superman Character From The DC Canon Confirmed so Far

    Title Bout

The highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is packed with DC characters, far more than you might expect. As the precursor to the even larger Justice League film, this bout between Batman and Superman is only the beginning of DC's plans for its expansive cinematic universe. Here's every character that's confirmed to appear so far.

    Batman

    Played By: Ben Affleck
Batman a.k.a Bruce Wayne takes center stage in the upcoming film's conflict, traveling to Metropolis to preemptively strike Superman before he can become a potential threat to humanity. This new version of Batman shares similar origins to past incarnations of the character (i.e. the loss of his parents at a young age, etc.). However, this Batman appears much older and far more cynical than any we've seen in the movies so far. This Bruce Wayne has already served a long tenure as the caped crusader.

    Superman

    Played By: Henry Cavill
Superman a.k.a Clark Kent comes right off the heels of his actions in Man of Steel. After saving the world from the evil General Zod, Superman must come to terms with the effects that his god-like powers have on humanity. At the same time, he must face off against Batman, who's trying to take him down.

    Lex Luthor

    Played By: Jesse Eisenberg
Superman's iconic arch nemesis Lex Luthor is set to appear in Batman v Superman. Unlike past incarnations, this version of Luthor is much younger, sporting more of an eccentric, evil Mark Zuckerberg vibe rather than an aged, cynical industrialist. But if there's one quality that this new Lex Luthor has retained, it's his intense fixation on killing Superman.

    Doomsday

Voiced By: Robin Atkin Downes (Voice of Kaz Miller from MGS V, Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes)
Doomsday is a major supervillain from the DC comic book universe who's infamous for having killed Superman during the famous "Death of Superman" arc from the 1990s. While it's uncertain how Doomsday comes to be in the film, it's clear that Batman and Superman will have to set aside their differences to defeat him.

    Wonder Woman

    Played By: Gal Godot
Wonder Woman--the 5,000 year old Amazon demi-goddess daughter of Zeus--is set to play an important role in the events of Batman v Superman. Early trailers have detailed little of her motivations or whose side she's truly fighting for. However, it appears she'll be lending a hand in Batman's and Superman's fight against Doomsday. It's interesting to note that this film marks Wonder Woman's first appearance in a feature film in 70 years.

    Lois Lane

    Played By: Amy Adams
The Daily Planet's Lois Lane is stuck in the middle of the conflict between Batman and Superman. She has a stake in the situation given her relationship with Superman, but what role she'll play in the struggle remains unknown.

    Perry White

    Played By: Laurence Fishburne
From early trailers, Perry White--the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet--appears as cranky as ever. He discourages Clark Kent from chasing up leads on Batman, insisting that he doesn't get to decide what's right. Unfortunately, we all know Clark doesn't listen.

    Alfred Pennyworth

    Played By: Jeremy Irons
Alfred Pennyworth--Batman's most trusted confidant--seems to be helping the caped crusader in his mission to eliminate Superman. Unlike previous incarnations of Alfred, this one trades his background as Batman's butler for a role as the Wayne family's bodyguard. In the film's current events, he serves as chief of security for Bruce Wayne. Despite these changes, Alfred's role as Batman's primary remote support is the same.

    Martha Kent

    Played By: Diane Lane
Martha Kent--Superman's adoptive mother--appears to be aiding her son with advice in his moments of uncertainty

    General Zod

    Played By: Michael Shannon
It seems that Lex Luthor is using the corpse of General Zod to assist in his scheme to kill Superman. However, what exactly he's doing with the corpse remains unclear.

    Thomas and Martha Wayne

Played By: Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan
Unfortunately, Bruce Wayne's parents are destined to be murdered in front of him once more. As we know from past incarnations of Batman's origin story, the trauma of the event inevitably leads him down the path of becoming the legendary caped crusader.

    Aquaman

    Played By: Jason Momoa
Aquaman a.k.a Arthur Curry is in Batman v Superman. However, this king of Atlantis won't be playing a prominent role in the film's story since his presence is meant to set up the initial roster of the upcoming Justice League film.

    Cyborg

    Played By: Ray Fisher
Cyborg a.k.a Victor Stone is (as his superhero name implies) half-man, half-machine. In his comic book origin story, Stone was outfitted with a powerful set of cybernetic limbs after an accident in his father's lab put him in a near fatal state. Similar to Aquaman, Cyborg is in Batman v Superman to set up the initial roster in the upcoming Justice League film.

    The Flash

    Played By: Ezra Miller
The Flash a.k.a Barry Allen will also appear in some capacity in Batman v Superman. Information regarding his appearance is fairly limited, but it's assumed that he's also included to set up the Justice League film's roster.
