Alicia Vikander will play Lara Croft in next Tomb Raider film

Ex Machina and The Danish Girl star Alicia Vikander will play Lara Croft in the next Tomb Raider film.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the next Tomb Raider movie will be directed by Roar Uthaug (Cold Prey, The Wave). It will follow a younger Lara as she embarks upon her earliest tomb raiding endeavors.
Vikander has suddenly become in vogue after recently winning the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for The Danish Girl last year. She also starred in Alex Garland's Ex Machina, Guy Ritchie's The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and she'll appear opposite Matt Damon in Paul Greengrass' upcoming Jason Bourne film, simply titled Jason Bourne.
