Assassin's Creed movie mostly set in modern times

Roughly two-thirds of the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie will be set in modern times.
According to executive producer Pat Crowley in an interview with IGN, 65 per cent of the film will be set in the present day and only 35 per cent will take place in the simulation of 15th century Spain.
That's a big shift from the games, which set only a few per cent of their running times, if that, in the contemporary era.
