  • A New "Italian Job" Is on the Way, But It's Not a Movie

Following news that The Departed is being made into a TV show, it's now been reported that The Italian Job is making the jump as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC is developing a show that would be a reboot of the 1969 film and its 2003 remake starring Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron.
According to the site, the TV show would follow a "make-shift family of expert criminals who are forced out of retirement when an opportunity arises to get their beloved 'patriarch' out of jail."
The lead's name is Charlie Croker, described as a "handsome and charming ex-con who tried to go straight, but like the rest of his crew, can't resist the adrenaline rush of the high-stakes heist world."
Entourage's Rob Weiss and Benjamin Brand are writing the script. Donald De Line, who produced the 2003 remake, is attached to executively produce the show.
This isn't NBC's first TV adaptation of a movie, as it's also making a show based on the Liam Neeson movie Taken.
