  • Space Jam Coming Back to Theaters for Two Days

The classic sports movie Space Jam is returning to theaters for a limited run.
According to Cartoon Brew, Fathom Events has announced it is bringing back the 1996 movie starring Michael Jordan and Bill Murray to 450 theaters in the US. This is being done in celebration of the movie's 20th anniversary (doesn't that make you feel old?).
The new theatrical run will take place on November 13 and November 16; showtimes are 2 PM and 6 PM on November 13 and 7 PM on November 16. Go to the Fathom Events website to learn more and to find out if a theater near you is participating in the event.
"Space Jam has been a family favorite for the last 20 years and is sure to remain so for the next 20 and beyond," Fathom Events VP Tom Lucas said in a statement. "This event is the perfect chance for audiences of all ages to view the film as it was meant to be seen--on the big screen."
Space Jam 2 is currently in the works with NBA superstar LeBron James in the lead role. The movie will be be directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Star Trek: Beyond), but there is no word yet on the supporting cast or release date.
Space Jam director Joe Pytka doesn't think a sequel is a good idea; he thinks it's "doomed."
