First-person grid-based dungeon crawler Legends of Grimrock will be getting a sequel, developer Almost Human announced.Evidently, the studio just decided to commit to a full sequel at a meeting earlier today, though it had been mulling over the idea for awhile and wasn't sure if it wanted to create a whole new game or simply DLC. As was the case with Hotline Miami developer Dennaton Games, Almost Human decided to expand upon its initial DLC plans for a full-length sequel.
"Creating a mere DLC or expansion to Grimrock simply would not have felt right," said Almost Human co-founder Petri Häkkinen on the company blog. "As today's meeting proved, we still have a lot of ideas we'd like to explore, lots and lots of new content already done (originally made for a DLC/expansion) and a big engine update in the works. Simply put, a DLC would have limited too much what we can do. With a full blown sequel we can raise Grimrock to the next level."
