Johnny and I recently attended the third annual Call of Duty Championship, which brought together 32 professional gaming teams from across the world to compete for a slice of a $1 million prize pool. What struck me most about the event, the third of its kind I've attended, is how much it has changed and evolved in a relatively short space of time. Its players, organisers and supporters have changed too. In fact, the entire eSports industry has expanded rapidly; it commands audiences of millions and attracts revenue well into the billions. So why do we have such a hard time taking it seriously?
