Earlier today, Activision formally announced Guitar Hero Live, the first entry in the series since 2010's Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The game doesn't launch until this fall, but if you live in New York or Los Angeles, you can play it as early as later this evening.
Retailer Best Buy has announced a special promotion where shoppers can play Guitar Hero Live tonight from 6-9 PM at the Best Buy Theatre in New York City's Times Square.
If you're not able to make it to that event, you still have a chance to play the game soon. This Saturday, April 18 from 1-5 PM, Guitar Hero Live will be playable for anyone at Best Buy stores in Union Square (NYC) and Torrance, California (outside of LA).
Guitar Hero Live is in development at DJ Hero studio FreeStyleGames for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Wii U. The game sounds quite ambitious, as it changes up not only Guitar Hero's trademark presentation, but also delivers a new, online-focused feature called Guitar Hero TV.
