There is an update on the young Han Solo Star Wars movie today, as it's been confirmed that Bradford Young is boarding the film to be its cinematographer.
The news comes from director Chris Miller, who retweeted a tweet that Young was joining the 2018 movie, stating that he is "very excited" to have him come aboard.
Young may not be a household name, but there is a chance you've seen his work. He was the cinematographer on crime drama Ain't Them Bodies Saints and 2014's MLK movie Selma. He also did that job for A Most Violent Year and Sicario, alongside acclaimed cinematographer Roger Deakins.
The next time you'll see Young's work is in November's Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner sci-fi movie Arrival, which sees humans making contact with aliens.
The Han Solo movie is being directed by 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie directors Miller and Phil Lord. Alden Ehrenreich will play the lead role, while Chewbacca is also set to make an appearance. It is set for release on May 25, 2018.
On the more immediate horizon, Star Wars Rogue One comes out this December. Disney CEO Bob Iger recently spoke up to say he doesn't expect the movie to make as much money as The Force Awakens did.
