  • New Stephen King's It Movie Finishes Filming, Creepy Photo Released

If you're afraid of clowns, you probably don't want to see 2017's It or the following picture. Producer Barbara Muschietti announced the upcoming movie's production has wrapped with the image of a creepy jack-in-the-box.
"And yes, it's a wrap on It the movie," Muschietti said on Instagram. "Thank you amazing cast and crew for this magical journey. And thank you, Stephen King, for giving us this tale."It is an adaptation of the 1986 Stephen King novel of the same name. There was a previous TV adaptation which featured Tim Curry as the diabolical clown Pennywise. The clown is played by Hemlock Grove star Bill Skarsgard in the 2017 remake. Skarsgard told Entertainment Weekly that he's going to take a different route with the character.
"Tim Curry’s performance was truly great, but it’s important for me to do something different because of that," he said. "I'll never be able to make a Tim Curry performance as good as Tim Curry."
You can check out Skarsgard as Pennywise in full costume and makeup here. Directing the movie is Andres Muschietti, who was previously announced as the director of the Shadow of the Colossus video game adaptation. However, that project has not moved forward since its announcement.
It opens in theaters on September 8, 2017. In addition to Skarsgard, it features Steven Williams (X-Files), Javier Botet (The Revenant), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Megan Charpentier (Resident Evil: Retribution), and Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special).
The clown horror story isn't the only Stephen King novel getting adapted for film. Idris Elba (Pacific Rim) is starring as the Gunslinger in the upcoming movie The Dark Tower, opposite Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar) as the Man in Black.
