  • Doctor Strange Marvel Legends Action Figure Line Close Look

The anticipation for the next Marvel Studios film, Doctor Strange, is building. You can check out the latest trailer here. A motion poster can also be seen here.
To keep our needs in check, Hasbro is releasing a Doctor Strange wave in their Marvel Legends line. There's a wide variety of figures here including movie versions, comic versions, along with other mystical-type heroes and villains.
Each figure comes with a different part of the Dormammu build-a-figure.

There is a nicely detailed comic version of Doctor Strange. He comes with one of Dormammu's arms and some mystical effects.

Hasbro has used these types of accessories for past figures like Scarlet Witch. You can slip the magical energy to his wrists and imagine he's casting a spell against dark forces.

Strange's Cloak of Levitation is molded plastic. There is some give to it, and it looks like it's in motion rather than just hanging.

The second Doctor Strange has Benedict Cumberbatch's likeness from the movie. You can see his costume has a different look, and he comes with extra hands and one of Dormammu's legs.

There is also a mystical shield you can slide into one of Strange's hands.

The cloak is also a different mold.

There is a movie version of Baron Mordo, aka Karl Mordo. In the comics, they don't get along too well. In the movie, Karl will be Strange's ally.
Mordo comes with a Dormammu leg and a couple of flaming skulls.

Mordo also has a staff. Who needs fancy spells when you can just hit someone over the head with a staff?

The third Doctor Strange figure is also based on the movie. This is Strange in his astral form.
Included with this figure is Dormammu's flaming head.

The figure has a shimmery paint job. It's not quite translucent, which was a good call. Otherwise, you'd see the joints of the figure.

You can place the figures side-by-side to make it so Strange's astral form is leaving his body.

Brother Voodoo has nothing to do with the movie but has risen the ranks of top sorcerers in the Marvel Universe. He's appeared in the recent Doctor Strange comic and comes with the other Dormammu arm.

Voodoo comes with a staff and has a bit of detail with his costume.

His cape is also different from the other Doctor Strange figures. It has a more tattered look to it.

A new Iron Fist figure is included in the wave. He doesn't practice magic or sorcery but is a "master of spiritual energy." He comes with extra fists, energy flames to simulate his power, and Dormammu's shoulder armor.

You can swap out one or both fists to show the pre-power first action.

The energy flames slip right onto the fists.

He looks a little skinny, but you can position him in some pretty cool poses.

You have to have villains in an action figure line. Enchantress is more of a Thor villain (and pre-dates the DC Comics version by two years), but she is a strong user of mystical power. She comes with the energy rings and Dormammu's torso.

As with the Doctor Strange figure, the energy rings slip over her wrists.

This character has pretty much retained her original look over the years.

With the heels on her boots, it was a little tricky getting the figure to stand. Once in the right position, it stood perfectly.

Another non-Doctor Strange figure is Nico Minoru. Nico is a member of the Runaways, a group of teens who discovered their parents were villains. She'll likely appear in the upcoming television adaptation.
Nico comes with an extra arm, magical staff, and Dormammu's pelvis region and cape.

The Staff of One is a powerful weapon used in conjunction with Nico's verbal commands.

Nico doesn't have a proper superhero costume but tends to wear a lot of black.

Once assembled, Dormammu stands taller than the rest. He is one of Doctor Strange's greatest enemies.

You can place the flaming skulls in his hands to make him look even more menacing.

The flaming head has a cool look to it.

Now you can have all the heroes team up against Dormammu.

With the upcoming release of the Doctor Strange movie, these figures will be in demand. Who says you can have too many Doctor Strange figures? If you haven't seen these in stores, they should be popping up within the next week or so. Thanks to Hasbro for letting us get a hands-on look at the entire line. You can take a look at the recent X-Men Marvel Legends line here.
Let us know what you think of these figures.
