Meaning no disrespect to People Can Fly's Gears of War Judgment, the arrival of Gears of War 4 feels like much more of an event than its predecessor. That may be down to Gears 4 not focusing on Baird - easily the franchise's most irritating character - of course, or at a push one could claim it's down to this release being a numbered sequel and not a spin-off. Doubtless for a lot of fans, however, the main appeal of Gears of War 4 will stem from the return of the much celebrated Horde mode.
Horde 3.0 is by all accounts rather different to previous incarnations, including barrier placement and character classes for the first time. Eager to check it out - and, apparently, to show ourselves up - Ian and I took to Horde 3.0 in order to test our mettle against countless waves of enemies.
