WWE Suspends Paige Again, and She's Not Happy
For the second time in as many months, WWE has suspended Paige for a violation of its wellness policy.
WWE announced the news today, saying Paige--whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis--has been suspended 60 days for her second violation. The first came in August, when she was suspended on the same day as her real-life boyfriend Alberto Del Rio. She later claimed that her suspension was the result of not being able to make it home in time to be tested.
This time around, she quickly responded on Twitter, again seemingly proclaiming her innocence. "Same s*** different day," she said. "Kids..Please don't get prescriptions or doctor's notes. Not acceptable." That tweet was followed by another, seemingly suggesting that WWE protects its stars from similar suspensions. "Rules apply depending on your status," she said.
Paige has been dealing with a neck injury. Late last month, she tweeted that the next step of her recovery involved choosing between two surgery options, which would have presumably kept her sidelined regardless of this suspension.
