Nvidia Unveils Two Budget-Priced Graphics Cards: GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti
Nvidia today announced two new Pascal-powered graphics cards that come in at a budget price, the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti.
The GTX 1050 starts at $109, and the 1050 Ti starts at $139, making them the cheapest Pascal cards to date. Nvidia also offers the GTX 1060 in the $250 range, while at the high-end it has the $600 GTX 1080.
These prices put the GTX 1050 Ti and 1050 in direct competition with the AMD RX 460, which is also priced in the $100-$150 range. Nvidia claims these cards are powerful enough to run modern games at 1080p and 60 FPS.

It didn't provide specific benchmarks, but Nvidia did state, "Out of the box, the GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti are both blazing fast, with the GTX 1050 Ti on average 40 percent faster and more than 128 percent more power efficient than the closest competitive product at stock speeds." It said the card was compared against an RX 460 in games like BioShock Infinite, Grand Theft Auto V, The Witcher 3, and others.
Nvidia also said the new cards' performance far outpaces that of the GTX 750 Ti, though the graph it has on its website is more than a little vague.
Full specs for the two cards are available here. They're largely identical, except for a few key differences: the Ti has 4 GB of memory and 768 CUDA cores, compared to the 1050's 2 GB and 640 cores. The 1050's base clock speed, however, is slightly higher, at 1354 MHz to 1290 MHz. Both require only 75 watts.
The GTX 1050 Ti will launch first, arriving on in just a week's time, on October 25. The 1050 will follow it shortly thereafter, "on or before" November 8.
