  • GameStop Is Raising Money This Holiday to Support Make-A-Wish

Retailer GameStop today announced plans for its third annual holiday Make-A-Wish charity drive.
Starting November 18 and running through the end of the year, shoppers will be able to donate money at the point of sale to benefit Make-A-Wish. One hundred percent of donations from GameStop and its subsidiaries will go to the charitable organization.
"We have seen firsthand how wish experiences can be a game-changer for kids facing tough medical issues in their young lives," GameStop CFO Rob Lloyd said in a statement. "Our hope is that customers at our U.S. and Canadian stores become more aware of how Make-A-Wish is making life better for these kids, and will join us in giving back to this worthy cause."
Lloyd is also a member of Make-A-Wish's North Texas board.
Shoppers will be given the opportunity to donate $1, $5, or $10 at GameStop and subsidiary stores this holiday; they can also buy a special Make-A-Wish holiday gift card (pictured above).
GameStop's EB Games stores in Canada started their in-store donation drives on November 1.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that grants "wishes" to children with life-threatening medical issues. GameStop has donated millions of dollars over the years to the group. World of Warcraft and Diablo developer is also a regular supporter of the Make-A-Wish foundation.
