  • Philips Two-in-One Monitor is Now Available

    A dual headed monitor

We don't need to preach the benefits of a dual-monitor setup to power users -- chances are you already know. The downside, of course, is the amount of desk space you have to give up for a multi-monitor setup. That's what makes the Philips Two-in-One display so clever. It's supposedly the world's first virtually seamless two-in-one monitor, which combines a pair of 19-inch screens for a 32-inch display.
There's a thin 3.5mm border that separates the two In-Plane Switching (IPS) panels, each of which are slightly angled inward to push the edges of the monitors out for a curved screen effect. Connectivity options include DisplayPort and VGA on the first display, and VGA and MHL-enabled HDMI on the second. You'll also find two USB inputs on each one.
The stand supports tilt forward and backward adjustments up to 22.5 degrees, and height adjustment of up to 100mm. Other features include 250 cd/m2 brightness, 5ms rated response time, and a rather ho-hum 1280x1024 resolution.
Philips has set the MSRP to $499, though it's currently available on Newegg for about $426 shipped.
