  • Back in 2007, I was taking my A-level exams. For both English Literature and Drama, I came out with A*s. I'm still quite proud of this, which you can probably tell from the fact I'm bringing it up all these years later - but there's a reason I'm bringing this up beyond the chance for a belated humble brag: I owe my full-scoring papers, weirdly, to BioShock.

        • Capcom has celebrated a new milestone for Dragon's Dogma 2, which came out last year, but the most common response so far is - what about some DLC?

          • Today, Stalker 2 comes to the PS5. A massive step in the game's post-launch roadmap, it brings with it a host of new additions to better serve the platform as well as the full suite of pre-existing gameplay iterations that have been consistently added to the haunting FPS since last year. However, with the war in Ukraine still raging and most of the PS5-version dev team still based in Kiev, it's proven far from simple to produce the port.

            • Yesterday, we published part one of our interview with former Xbox 360 boss Peter Moore, where he talked about the creation of Microsoft's beloved machine, the grand idea encompassing it, and how his team had to break from the stuffy office-worker image Microsoft had. "Guys with pocket protectors and thick glasses", as he described it. He also talked about "throwing punches" to provoke the Xbox vs. PlayStation console war.

              • It looks like an animated Indian film from last year has actually copied its action from Sony Santa Monica's 2018 God of War reboot.

                • Four words I did not expect to hear from former Xbox 360 boss Peter Moore when we spoke recently were: "I was Ken Kutaragi." As in, Ken Kutaragi, the widely acknowledged 'father of PlayStation' - the engineer and businessman who designed the original PlayStation consoles and led Sony Computer Entertainment, until Kaz Hirai took over later in the PlayStation 3 era. But those four words were the words Peter Moore said.

                  • We already knew the Xbox Series X/S version of last year's stupendous Silent Hill 2 remake was likely imminent thanks to recent ratings board sightings, but it turns out the wait is already over - for Australian players at least. It's available to download right now via the Australian Xbox Store, suggesting a global launch announcement will feature during tonight's Xbox showcase.

                    • I now sort of understand why Kirby Air Riders was deemed worthy of a pair of Nintendo Directs that add up to a feature-length running time. Part of that is obviously the verbose design-nerd predilections of its director, Masahiro Sakurai, sure. But another reason is quite simple: this is a rather difficult game to describe.

                      • The next entry in Capcom's Resident Evil series will be arriving in just a few months time and, while it was originally announced for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, it will also be coming to Switch 2. But, will it be making the most of the Switch 2's functions?

                            • Cast your mind back to 2023 and you might recall a lot of PC players getting very excited about a bearded fellow named Dave and his adventures deep below the waves.
