  • Boxx Announces Desktop Replacement Laptops with Professional Graphics

    To 4GHz and beyond

Back in February, Boxx Technologies rolled out its impressively spec'd Apexx 5 Workstation crammed full with five GPUs, demonstrating a combination of raw power and boutique building chops. Well, Boxx is back, this time with a pair of mobile workstations armed with Intel Core i7 desktop processors and optional Nvidia Quadro graphics for professional level computing chores.
The GoBOXX 15 MXL and GoBOXX 17 MXL are both desktop replacements with Haswell inside. They have four DIMM slots with support for up to 32GB of DDR3-1600 memory; 256GB and 512GB M.2 PCI-E SSD options plus up to two SATA SSDs (120GB to 1TB, or stuff a mechanical HDD in there); Nvidia Quadro K1100M, K3100M, K5110M or GeForce GTX 980M graphics options; 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GbE LAN connectivity; and the usual assortment of ports (1 x USB 3.0/eSATA combo, 4 x USB 3.0, 1 x HDMI, 2 x DisplayPort, line in, line out, microphone in, and S/PDIF out).
Other than physical screen size, both systems offer the exact same specs, resolution (1920x1080), and configuration options. Both are also intended for professionals who work programs like Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Revit, and so forth, though with the GeForce GTX 980M GPU option, you could configure a pretty capable gaming machine, too.

The GoBOXX MXL 15 and GoBOX MXL 17 are available to configure and order now starting at $3,722 and $3,754, respectively.
