It's very distressing."</p><p>Ms Adler confirmed that Ms Storelli had been offered a new five-year contract in March.</p><p>She said Ms Storelli was included in board discussions about "the repayment of these overpayments".</p><p>Ms Storelli told 3AW this morning that she first realised she had been overpaid on January 18 this year, and immediately informed Ms Adler and the board.</p><p>The payments are believed to be in relation to nanny fees with her salary packaging, 3AW reported.</p><p>Ms Storelli said she had been prepared to return any overpayments, but that the board had denied her request for an independent financial expert to oversee the process.<br /><br />"I wanted a fair hearing...and I've been denied that,'' Ms Storelli told 3AW.</p><p>Ms Storelli told the Jon Faine program on ABC radio this morning that she had been given a new five-year contract as MLC principal in March this year, and accused the board of "gross mismanagement".<br /><br />"I wanted a fair process and I believe they denied me natural justice," she stated.<br /><br />Ms Storelli stated the board itself should "without a doubt" be sacked.<br /><br />She said she felt bullied by the board.</p><p>"I feel angry and hurt and dismayed that that accusation or allegation, incorrectly, possibly deliberately, has gone out to my college community who I have worked hard for for 20 years," she told 3AW.</p><p>Ms Adler told last night the issue related to Ms Storelli's own finances. <br /><br />Asked how the overpayments occurred, Ms Adler replied: "The way she conducted her remuneration arrangements and the way she managed them resulted in overpayments."<br /><br />She said the overpayments related to Ms Storelli's own salary and involved "a significant amount of money".</p><p>A Fairfax report stated that Ms Storelli was overpaid by more than half a million dollars over 15 years.<br /><br />Ms Adler assured families the university, which charges annual student fees of up to $22,000, "remains in a stable and robust financial position".</p><p>Ms Storelli was appointed in 1997, becoming MLC's first female principal.</p><p>At the time, she reflected on the fact it had taken 114 many years for the school to give a woman the top job.<br /><br />"Young women today need to see women in positions of decision-making all around them, and it is sad that it has taken this long," Ms Storelli stated at the time.<br /><br />"As soon as I went out into the workforce, I realised I had to work hard for girls to ensure they had the same opportunities as boys."<br /><br />A senior administrator from a neighbouring college explained Ms Storelli was considered a "shining light" among college leaders.<br /><br />"We've always held Rosa in the highest of regards, as a teacher and an administrator . . . as good as any principal going around," the administrator mentioned.<br /><br />"She was going to be the head(master) of all heads. I hope she hasn't done anything to (damage) her copy book."<br /><br />Ms Adler said vice principal Debbie Dunwoody had been appointed acting principal, while an "international search" for Ms Storelli's replacement begins.</p>
