You cant actually be sued for using programs like Kazaa.. There is no clause in the program agreement that states it is illegal when you install it. Secondly, the consumer cant be sued before the company is. And also, another area that people seem to be blurring the lines is, its not illegal to download music, its illegal to share them with others. ie make them accessible to other people online. There is alot of hoo ha over all this at the moment, but so far, the only people who have paid a cent for it are those who have succumbed and settled out of court.

I am part of a community online that shares music. The thing about this community is that it only shares music from artist's that allow audience recordings of there shows. There will on occasion be some one who posts they have a recording of an artist that is non-taper friendly. The moderator of the forums gets real ANNOYED when people do this cause of the RRA, the moderator does not want the same thing to happen to etree.org as did napster.

When it comes to peer to peer trading their are alot of artist's who frown on that cause it does not make the trading of their live recordings more personnal with the people who trade the shows.

Plus, I think it is a shame that this organization has targeted a 12 year old, just my 2 cents worth.

If you download movies, they will nail your ass..Trust me on this...Times are changing very quickly...Faster then we realize..Sue us or not, they are invading our privacy...I have the email right here that they sent my x wife...They know all about her over this...You never know who is monitoring files on P2P networks anymore..Please be careful!
