Early footage released of this war by the media is all propoganda... Now, finally.. some real footage is being released, obviously not by the media though.

Most of the Allied captives were treated well, looked after, some even had operations that saved their lives from injuries they had incurred. They were medicated and kept comfortable... Out of pain.

Obviously not all Iraqi captors were saints, and some did terrorize.. but Ive seen even Shoshana say that the footage of her being questioned was not how she was actually treated... It was only for the video.


Besides all this. Because someone treats you bad, and you in turn treat them bad back.. doesnt make you the hero, it makes you just the same, if not worse.. for having known better.

As for the above movie showing the US solider dropping that iraqi. Hmmm in the middle or after a fire fight I wouldn't personally be in a hurry to run out there and give him a bandage since he was just a few minutes a go trying to kill me. For all you know he is clutching a gernade waiting for you to walk up. Or one of his buddies in still in cover waiting for you to leave your cover.

War is sloppy, its a fact of life. There isn't going to be a judge and jury on the battlefield, just a prosocuter. Hey I dunno maybe that man was innocently killed. Tho he wasn't out walking his doggie with that asssault riffle was he.

err Only issue I have with this is reverse the nationalities.. If that was an allied soldier lying on the ground with an assault rifle, obviously given up the fight.. and was shot like that by Iraqi soldiers.. you would see it alot differently then wouldnt you?

I've watched the tape again. I do believe that soldier may have a military tribunal coming. What I don't see in that video clip is the whole affair. It would help. Also I didn't sense any leadership in that scene. Was it a bunch of green privates, where is their commanding officer. Did the guy really die, where is he now. For all we know that last shot blew out his hip and not his guts.

Unfortunate, that soldier "awsome" he's abviously running on adrenaline. Personally I would have thrown a gernade, cleared the area and advanced my squad. hehe

im sry if my opinion offends anyone but it is a state of war and honestly they really dont know who the enemy is just like vietnam only now were fighting a different type of war i dont totaly agree with the reasons we are there as a occupational force but its war and bad things happen in war im sure any vet of any war the fought for which ever side can tell you its no fun ride if it had been me or you or anyone of us we might have done the same thing stuck in that situation who knows but i really dont care so ill shut up it war and shit happens deal with it Its Part of Life no matter what side of the fence we are all standing on

Well it doesn't offend me much but it does offend the human rights..
I mean, come on, no one wants that they all get killed and that America takes it over or something.
Irak needs to be independent within 20 years.

Talking about the Iraq war is kinda like talking about religion. When you are fed information you take the point of view that closest matches your own and you believe in that information as being fact when all else is fiction or propoganda.

The simple fact is unless you are the person or people that decided to launch a war you really don't know why they did it. Hell the final decesion could've been Bush didn't get laid that day and said fuck it lets get em.

The point is, should we as people look at the images we are fed (like this, that I didn't get to see damn it) and say "see war is evil and that's wrong" or the images of the what Saddam did to people and say "see we are justified by going in and getting rid of him"?

Or should we be trying to figure out what to do with the place now to make everything better?

well i was in the military (Marines) and i did make it to that part of the world not Iraq but damn close; do you know what they do to people like us if they had the chance, i have seen breifing and read articals about the atrocities. I am not condoneing the action: BUT WE WERE NOT THERE WE DONT KNOW WHAT THE HELL WENT ON. Personally i wouldnt have talked to the press about it, they have a knack for twisting everything around. WAR is the most HORRID of human endevours and is only possible if we act on our most base and vile instinct. Violence is always our first reaction, but if we take the time to think and use our intelect we can always come to a better, peacefull solution.
