The new collaboration between Xbox and Asus, the cumbersomely named ROG Xbox Ally X, is a strange old thing. As Tom elucidates in Eurogamer's review of the device, it is many things at once. Marketing will tell you that it is 'an Xbox'. The reality is that it is a PC, of course, albeit one with an Xbox interface grafted on. It's something of a Frankenstein's Monster in that sense, though like the monster it is also hardy and functional. One can see the case and audience for it.

Phew! It barely feels like seven days have passed since last time, but here we are again with another Weekly Digest - in which we recap some of the highlights you might have missed over this past week on Eurogamer. And what a busy one it's been! Pokémon has always been a jet-setting series, with its head in the clouds and its feet planted firmly in the real world. The first four generations of Pokémon games took us on a whirlwind tour of Japan. Red and Blue were set in a fictionalised version of Greater Tokyo, with dense cities and urban sprawl. Gold and Silver whisked us down to Kansai, with gorgeous temples and leafy towns. Ruby and Sapphire looked south to subtropical Kyūshū, all seaside cities and swathes of blue ocean. Diamond and Pearl donned their winter coats and flew to the chilly northern island of Hokkaidō, with its craggy peaks and snowfields.

The Arc Raiders server slam has begun. The much-anticipated third-person extraction shooter has only been available to play for roughly two hours (at time of writing), and it's already nearing 100,000 concurrent players.
