Well the pictures do speak of a lot of things. However I must point out that we don’t get the entire 'picture' here. Did they see the person come from someplace that they had just found bombs? This still shouldn't justify the shooting, but there are a lot of ways to spin a story. I am unaware of the laws of this country, so I wouldn't know if aiding a terrorist group is punishable by execution without a trial.
The only thing we can really tell is that a man has died and that in it self is enough to be sad about. I may kill in games everyday for fun, but in real life killing someone is sad. Even though there may times it is necessary. I didn't mean to turn this into a political discussion, it's just that stories always have more than one side and we need to think about all of the possibilities.
I know where I am concerning where I was, things always look better depending on how far you look back.

It is a sad and insensitive World out there. Pictures like these make me so very Proud to be an AMERICAN. I may be Mexican and French, but I am also an American! God bless the people that get killed, people that are discriminated against and people that are injured or killed because of ones beliefs..

it reminds me of some footage i saw from brazil

where a 'suspect' was just terminated for no reason

i totally sit on the fence on this one cus we dont know the real story but i do think a lot of this is down to corruption and power abuse.

Ok its not wrong, I even like it because the people who say it like their country and thats good. But actually......I am also proud to be a Dutchman. And a Belgian guy/girl is proud to be Belgian.....Can somebody tell me what is so special at being an American.

Again I say that I like it when people say it. Please dont feel offended or anything like that. I also say it out loud. Improud to be DUTCH . Its just that I dont get what is so special at being a American.....

Can't we just all get along.. all country's do their part. And the World would be a better place!!

MasterMind there are a lot of political issues that go on in the world. I have only a small amount of knowledge of the world as it is. I've only been to Europe once and seeing how it is compared to North America showed me only a little of the issues. I understand the Turkish view points, the French view point and the English view point only a little. I know almost nothing of the others. As we all go about our lives we have HOPE and part of that hope is a hope for our countries, no matter what they may be. We each of us, I believe, Hope that our countries will do what they need to, to help their citizens. The sad fact is that not all politicians and leaders of every country do this, even in America. America isn't perfect, not everyone votes, and shame on those that don't, not all of us follow our rules. We just believe that we are great. Why, well we have reasons just as the French Germans, Spanish and the rest of the world do. The answers aren't the same even between the top leaders of each country. It just all boils down to the pride and belief that each person’s environment that they were raised in helps shape what they 'feel' for their country. Do I think America kicks butt? Sure I do. Do I think that Mr. Kitten thinks England is great, I bet he does. Just because we believe that our country is great doesn't mean that we don't think that you have the right to think your country is great. America has only been here for 200+ years so were a little cocky, we never lost a major war, but we sometimes "influence" other countries into doing what we want. Sometimes every country makes a decision based on gaining money instead of its people. Sometimes it has to make tough choice to defend its people.

Thank God were not mindless machines and have independent thought that can help us make better decisions for this world. Talking to everyone in the forum really helps me to understand that even though we have a very diverse forum membership we are still "Brothers and Sister" in some way. I can't wait for the world to get online like we are and educate people more so that we can all take care of the issues at hand. More education makes for a better world. forget giving money to poor countries give teachers to them bring people here educate them and send them home to teach, free education for those that teach for 10 years. You would have people lining u[p and they would want to learn.

Sorry to make this so long people.

The Israelies are proud to be Israelites.
The Palestinians are proud to be Palestinians.
The Iraqis are proud to be Iraqis.
The Taliban are proud to be Taliban.
Swedes are proud to be Swedish.
The Dutch are proud to be Dutchmen.
Australians are proud to be Australian.
Americans are proud to be Americans.

                          Etc Etc Etc...

However, being proud of your country doesnt mean your country is always righteous, nor prove it to be compassionate and tolerant on all levels, at all times.
Just as equality and justice survive in many forms on many levels in the majority of countries, this does not guarentee that in-equality, racism and faith based hatred doesnt also lurk among the people of those countries.
No one is perfect, no country is perfect, no Government is perfect.. But, if we want to hold onto our humanity, what little is left... it starts with respect for eachother and all the different nations in this World. Not only ourselves and our own countries.
I prefer to think of myself not only as an Australian citizen, but as a citizen of this World. And to be completely honest, the last few years, I find very little to be proud of.

                          Sorry, a tad long.. lol

I had a family member that lived in sao-Paulo for 10 years he told me that in brasil they have death scuadrons, over there they have alots of people who rob in streets and stuff, this is very sad cause they dont go to trial, the cop that gets him is the jury and the judge, so u can picture what happens, this type of things are "normal" over there, sad very sad, this coruption thing is a normal thing here in mexico, politicians are the worst criminals in here...
the sad thing about this is we here are so used to it u see it normal, and things like this can only get worse, I hope in this place things like this are not norma,. cause i dont think gunning down a cuffed person in the street is not good, no matter what he did....
                            Learn on other people mistakes.....
