Don't get me wrong people are shot that are innocent in America. The British are proud of it the Americans are proud of it and so are a lot of other countries that don't have this kind of violence. Does that mean that if you take a movie of a shoot out with police officers that you couldn't make it into stills and possibly have it look like the pictures in this post, sure you could. One of the rudest awakenings that you get growing up is that things in the world are not as they seem. The people controlling the media have there own political agenda and are very connected in the governments of the world, democratic societies that is.) You will see what they want you to see, and usually nothing more.
As far as being extra proud to be a citizen of your country when you see a picture like that, well because you feel a responsibility to your country to make sure those things don't happen. You feel a sense of pride knowing that if it does happen then the person that did the act will be brought to justice if it is warranted. Look at Rodney King in the US. The law was changed and people were tried twice for the same case. That just didn't happen the way it did before that incident. American's wanted, had, to see justice. So they got it. Some Americans felt better after the second trial that's why it happened. In a lot of countries in this world the person that did the shooting would be at least questioned about the shooting. Sometimes the internet isn't always good, pictures are used to cloud the minds of people with crap that is staged to make you think about it a certain way. Humans can be programmed also. Jesper this is not a question that has a definitive answer, in 2 more generations when our kids are used to a global chat room with live video then we will be able to explain it better but right now cultures are still rather diverse, and the gaps between us are rather large for me to be able to explain this in one post. As you go though life you view will change. For better or for the worse, what you have to realize is that you control how that view affects you. Don’t let an add or a picture or another person do that to much. Try to look at things objectively and always in a positive way. It's easy enough to see things negatively; the news in America is sensationalized so good stuff is promoted here enough in my viewpoint.
